Post Incredible Hulk
Comics Continuum spoke to Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige who says that they will have a meeting shortly with a writer for The Hulk 2, which he says will likely be made at Universal.

"We've got a meeting in the next week or two with a very talented writer who's come up with a version that is interesting. We're anxious about it, and think there are amazing stories to come with Bruce Banner."

While a director has not been determined yet, Feige says you can expect more action in the second film.

"We want to continue to take it very seriously and continue to follow his inner psyche, but at the same time allow us in the audience to have a little more fun, a little more action, a little more of the 'Hulk smash.'"

Zap2it talked to Eric Bana, who denied rumors that he may be the next James Bond, and also said that he has yet to be contacted by Universal about The Hulk 2...

Bana, who says that he doesn't have definite plans on what he's doing next, although a few projects are in the works, also pleads ignorant to plans for a sequel to Ang Lee's "The Hulk," which made Universal approximately $242 million in world-wide box office receipts (not including DVD/VHS sales). In early April, producers Gale Anne Hurd and Avi Arad said they were working on a sequel to the film.

However, the project may be on the backburner given that Bana says they haven't talked to him to repirse the role, even though he is under contract to play Bruce Banner again if Universal does move forward with the project.

IESB caught up with "Hulk" star Eric Bana at the Celebrity Poker Charity Tournament in Hollywood a few days ago and asked him about a possible "Hulk" sequel: "I can't see a sequel happening anytime soon... I don't see it moving forward for a while, I am obligated for at least one more but I really don't see that happening anytime soon".

the flip flops once more: While it remains on Marvel's upcoming schedule, Hulk 2 is not looking likely, according to what the first film's star, Eric Bana, told NYNewsday.com:

He conceded that some projects have been less successful than others - "Hulk," for instance ("Nobody's talking about any sequel," he said). But he said he was just "trying to find great work."

Cinescape is reporting that Eric Bana will not return for the new HULK film project. This was widely conjectured after Avi Arad's announcement that the film...now called THE INCREDIBLE HULK...would be a remake rather an a continuation. Although...the story claims the film's exodus from Universal (with whom Bana had his contract) is to blame for the recasting.
The article indicates that Brendan Fraser is one of the names being bandied about to replace Bana.

Scooper 'Megster' was able to talk to The Hulk star Eric Bana in St Kilda, Melbourne, Australia and asked him about the sequel:

Guess who I met at a St. Kilda match a few days back? The Hulk himself - EB. Eric Bana. He's filming a movie ["Romulus, My Father"] here in Victoria here at the moment. He said that Franka Potente from "Run Lola Run" is in it. Having heard all this nonsense about "The Hulk" (c'mon Brendan Fraser!??!), I thought I would ask him if he's coming back or not. He gave me an answer which makes me think he might return. He said it depends on a lot of things, like the script, the timing and whether they want him. But he'd be happy too, and he's looking to talk about "that one real soon". I asked whether Jennifer Connelly is coming back, he said he doesn't "know mate, but I don't think so".

Even though former Marvel Studios chief executive Avi Arad let the cat out of the bag earlier this year, The Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier made it official today at the San Diego Comic-Con that Abomination will indeed be the villain for the follow-up.

"He's capable of amazing feats," Arad said previously, describing the former Yugoslav spy who has mutated into a 980-pound freak of terrifying strength and unpleasant demeanor.

Marvel Studios and Universal Pictures will unleash Marvel's renowned, larger-than-life green Super Hero onto moviegoers everywhere in summer 2008 as they have announced a June 27th release date for the action-packed, new big screen adaptation: The Incredible Hulk. The announcement was made today by Michael Helfant, President and COO, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige, President of Production for Marvel Studios.

Directed by top rising star Louis Leterrier ("Transporter 2," "Unleashed"), The Incredible Hulk will return to the roots of the long-running comic series, combining a well-developed storyline with incredible action and fun. Zak Penn, who previously collaborated with Marvel on X2 and this summer's smash hit X-Men: The Last Stand, is writing the script. The project is being produced by Avi Arad, Kevin Feige and Gale Anne Hurd and will be executive produced by Michael Helfant, David Womark, and Ari Arad. Marvel Studios is currently casting the project.

The Incredible Hulk is being independently produced by Marvel Studios through its $525 million, non-recourse film finance facility and will be distributed domestically and in several international territories by Universal Pictures.

Feige commented, "'The Incredible Hulk' will be the type of fun, high-octane event film people have come to expect from Marvel. We could not be more excited about this project and our summer 2008 prospects now that we have both our green goliath and our highly-anticipated 'Iron Man' set for release."

Helfant added, "We're very happy that Universal is distributing 'The Incredible Hulk.' We have a history together and this is a great opportunity for both Marvel and Universal to take the 'Hulk' film franchise to another level."

I am stunned, I didn't see this coming from a mile away. That Ang Lee directed Hulk movie that came out in 2003 is going to be lost forever when we finally are hit with The Incredible Hulk coming out in the summer of 2008 now that Edward Norton has been cast as Bruce Banner also known as The Hulk! The news officially comes from Ain't It Cool News, and now confirmed by Variety today. I'm still a bit stunned by this, but if anything it reaffirms my belief that this may be the Hulk movie we all wanted and weren't given back in 2003.

This new Incredible Hulk is being directed by Louis Leterrier this time, the same guy who directed Transporter 1 and 2. As mentioned previously, they're looking at it as a complete remake and do-over than a sequel by any means. Out of everyone I thought that could play the role, I didn't even consider Edward Norton to be one of them.

. Liv Tyler will be taking over for Jennifer Connelly as Betty Ross in THE INCREDIBLE HULK. They also let a little plot out, saying that the couple's relationship is on strained, almost gone as Bruce Banner is on the run, trying to find a cure for his condition, his pursuers hot on his trail.

Tim Roth will play the Hulk-ish Abomination opposite Ed Norton’s Bruce Banner and Liv Tyler's Betty Ross.

The funnybook Abomination, introduced by Stan Lee and Gil Kane in 1967's Tales To Astonish #90, was a godless Russian who intentionally exposed himself to twice as much gamma radiation as puny Banner absorbed. He became twice as strong as Hulk and twice as fugly. Also, he couldn't change back to Russky alter ego Emil Blonsky.
