AICN was at WonderCon, and brought the following for Clone Wars:
Quote:
This was a surprise, completely unannounced, Steve Sansweet came out and showed us some footage. Here’s the rundown:
The footage was broken up by an interview with Dave Filoni. He opens by saying that when he thinks of The Clone Wars, he goes back to the one sentence mention of it back in A New Hope. He said since that mention fans have been obsessed about thinking about the Clone Wars and what they could be.
I’m sure you’ve seen the already released trailer (>click here if you haven’t seen it yet! ). There was more stuff, but the look and style was exactly that trailer. It looks cool and all, but I have some major problems, most of them under the banner “Should have been in the movies.” Let’s look
Filoni said that we’ve seen the beginning and the end of the Clone Wars, but nothing in the middle, so that’s what we’re going to get. Should have been in the movies.
“It was very important to George (Lucas) that we explore a side of Anakin… you couldn’t call it the good side, but more of who was Anakin? What was he like?” Should have been in the movies.
“In THE CLONE WARS we get to look at Obi-Wan Kenobi in a slightly different way. Mainly exploring his relationship with Anakin Skywalker and seeing that they were like brothers. It will have more impact when you see Anakin’s fall.” Should have been in the movies.
One thing that looked really interesting was the addition of a padawan for Anakin, a feisty alien chick named Ahsoka Tona. I’m not sure if I have my nerd rules right, but didn’t Anakin get denied being upgraded to Jedi Master in Episode 3? Are apprentices allowed to have apprentices?
At any rate, Ahsoka seems to be something fresh in the series. Filoni describes her as having Anakin’s rebel spirit, but also some of Obi-Wan’s discipline. “She stands in between them.”
I’m sure her fate isn’t a good one since this takes place between Episodes 2 and 3 and she ain’t in REVENGE OF THE SITH.
He promised a lot more General Grievous. He promised a lot more clones, including specific characters like Captain Rex.
I’m not gonna poo-poo this. I loved Tartakovsky’s CLONE WARS cartoons, but I can say the exact same thing (Should Have Been In The Movie) with his work. I’m sure this’ll be fun and fill in for some of what was lacking the prequels for me. But at the same time, I’d kill to see an amazing live action version of this story that gets it right.
I agree with the summary... and since I'm just looking to be entertained, that's what I'm going to be waiting for... but it's hard not to consider how the Clone Wars could have essentially started in Episode I... and how the prequels could have been so much better.

IGN has a 5 page breakdown of some of the cast of characters for The Clone Wars. Nothing really earth shattering here but still a fun read as the anticipation builds. The characters highlighted are:
Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku, General Grievous, Yoda, Mace Windu, Padmé Amidala.
Click here sucka. I'm not banana sandwich over this, but I'm still looking forward to it.

We already knew that The Clone Wars animated series would be airing on the Cartoon Network, but we now know that it will be running on Friday nights along with Batman and Alien Force, among others. The announcement was made today at the Cartoon Network Upfront presentation in New York that George Lucas attended.

The Générations Star Wars expo was held in France, with Peter Mayhew as one of the special guests. Ares of StarWars-Universe.com asked if Peter had been contacted by George Lucas or Rick McCallum regarding The Clone Wars or the live action series. Peter responded that Chewbacca should show up in TCW as a figure of him is already in the works.
Even more interesting is that Mr. Mayhew let slip that there could be a possiblility of not just one but 3 Clone Wars movies if things go well. We have to consider this to be a rumor until we hear something official, but it's interesting nonetheless.

On August 15, Star Wars returns to theaters as it's never been seen before, in the first-ever animated adventure set in a galaxy far, far away: Star Wars: The Clone Wars from Lucasfilm Animation. TV Guide magazine is celebrating the excitement with four collectible covers and a multi-media CD-ROM which is presented exclusively by Toys "R" Us.
The disc will be affixed to four collectible covers of the August 11 special double issue on newsstands Thursday, August 7. The covers will feature favorite Star Wars characters as well as new additions to the galaxy: Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ashoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Asajj Ventress, Yoda and Count Dooku, and R2-D2 and C-3PO.
The special edition of TV Guide commemorates not only the first Star Wars animated theatrical release, but also the fall premiere of the weekly Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated television series on Cartoon Network.
The special CD-ROM created by TV Guide and Lucasfilm Ltd. features never-before-seen material, including:
Sneak peeks at Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Behind-the-scenes video of the making of Star Wars: The Clone Wars
On-camera commentary with executive producer George Lucas and Dave Filoni, director of Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Photo gallery of characters featured in Star Wars: The Clone Wars
Extras on the disc include links to video games and a behind-the-scenes tour of Lucasfilm Animation's production studio in Marin County, Calif. Readers will also be able to link directly from the CD-ROM to www.Toysrus.com for exclusive Star Wars: The Clone Wars merchandise, including the Star Wars 3.75-inch B-wing fighter from Hasbro.
Word on the streets is that this is not too good, just go on aintiticool and read the reviews, i don't know but i just don't care for this one too much, and the animation style doesn't help either.
