Here is the teaser trailer for the upcoming Speed Racer film coming out in May, and directed by the Wachowski Brothers. To be honest, i'm not really sure about this one, it looks pretty strange and it's a far cry from the Matrix films, this one seems to be on the family tip a little......well check it out and tell me what you think

This really is getting ridiculous with all these movie remakes.

On Speed Racer - very colorful images. Looks like some wild CG. Otherwise, meh. I never really got into the original speed racer, so I don't have much interest in this one.

On movie remakes - this is not new ground. We get older, we notice them more. Most of us here were born in the 70's, so we wouldn't notice how many remakes came out prior to the year 2000, since we had no knowledge and/or personal attachments to the originals... but there were a lot. In fact, since 1960 Hollywood remakes have been going strong. The only thing different about the amount of remakes coming out now is that our age group was around for the originals.

Good point and I do agree.  But the industry has grown so much since the 1960s and while the remakes were there it can't be in the same league as it is today.  The sheer volume of movies and content to copy over and over and the success of early adopters to this trend at the start of the millennium are the reasons we are seeing so many remakes.  Hollywood is a copy cat industry.

Speed Racer had a monkey for a friend, and they translated it into the remake. The bar for suck has already been set here. Pleeease.
